Below are a selection of portraits completed to date in pastels, pencil and oils. Initially all colour portraits were in oils, but it can be a very time consuming way of working. Whilst hugely enjoyable to do, they can take days to dry and requires many sessions. I discovered I could achieve a similar level of colourful detail using a 'new-to-me' media, pastels. Portraits have now been produced in pastel, pencil (monotone) or oils. Portraits in both pastels and oils have strong colours and are highly detailed and realistic.
